What we do
GBF Payment Services operates a multi-currency payment platform for individuals and organisations that move money across borders. Customers hold positions in the currencies they use, convert between them at a quoted rate, and send payments into the markets we cover.
We are a technology and operations business. Regulated payment activity is carried out country by country by licensed partners, under arrangements that make each party's responsibilities explicit. We provide the interface, the controls, the record of instructions and the reporting.
How we are structured
The platform is organised into four surfaces: a customer application, a business portal, a developer platform and an internal operations console. Each is built on the same record of truth, so a figure shown to a customer, a figure shown to an operator and a figure in an export are the same figure.
Financial records are held as double-entry entries that are written once and never altered. A correction is a new, linked entry, never an edit. Positions presented in the product are derived from those entries rather than maintained separately, so what you see can always be traced back to the movements that produced it.
Governance
The board sets strategy and risk appetite and approves the policies that govern financial crime, data protection, operational resilience and outsourcing. It receives regular reporting on control performance and on any incident that affects customers.
Management operates a three-lines model: business teams own the controls in their processes, a compliance and risk function owns policy and independent challenge, and internal audit tests both. Material decisions, including changes to how funds move and how access is granted, are recorded with the reasoning behind them.
Regulatory approach
We work with licensed partners in each market rather than presenting a single global permission. Partners are selected after due diligence on licensing, ownership, financial standing, control environment and regulatory history, and are reassessed on a schedule set by risk.
We do not describe ourselves as holding permissions we do not hold, and we do not imply protection that does not exist. Positions shown in the product describe amounts and their availability. Where a protection scheme applies to funds held with a partner in a particular market, its terms are those of that scheme, in that market.
The standards we hold ourselves to
- Say the figure. Amount, fee, rate and total are shown before an action, not after it.
- Say what is happening. Every state, including a restriction, is named in plain language with a reference identifier.
- No surprises. No charge appears only after the event, and no rate changes between the quote you accepted and the payment executed.
- Accessible by default. Screens are built to WCAG 2.2 level AA and tested with keyboard and screen reader.
- Plain language. No marketing wording on a screen that moves money.
Environmental and social responsibility
We measure the energy use of the infrastructure we operate and select providers on the basis of their published efficiency and renewable supply where a credible figure exists. We do not publish a carbon claim we cannot evidence.
Our recruitment, pay and progression practices are designed to be fair and are reviewed periodically. Modern slavery, forced labour and child labour are prohibited across our operations and in our supply chain, and supplier contracts require the same.
Corporate contact
Media enquiries go to the Press page. Customer questions go through support, which is the fastest route to an answer about a specific account. Regulators, law enforcement and financial intelligence units should use the compliance route on the Contact page.
Registered company details, including the registered name, number and office address, are published on the Contact page and on our customer correspondence.
